The Garndiffaith Gleemen and The Linden Singers 2012
Private music lessons have taken up most of the spring and summer . A regular income was needed for the completion of work on our old house!
An unexpected call came from a chorister in the Apollo Singers Choir, who I also play for when their pianist Alison is unavailable, to meet with John Jolley and the Garndiffaith Gleemen. Subsequently, I played for a concert in aid of the neonatal unit at The Royal Gwent Hospital Newport and really enjoyed accompanying amale voice choir again and playing excellent repertoire.
The Linden Singers annual tour to Guildford in July was enjoyable . The accommodation at Frensham Ponds Hotel and the concert venue, The Princes Theatre, Aldershot were lovely.
Their annual concert was a great success at Llanyravon Methodist Chuch, Cwmbran ,with guests,The Aughton Male Voice Choir from Liverpool, and raised over £800 for The Macmillan Nurses.
A CD of the concert can be bought. Please e mail the choir if you want one or go on their Websters website.
University and New Ventures
In October I began further education with a M A .This coincided with my departure from The Linden Singers.I have enjoyed the time as accompanist and know they will continue to do well in the future.
The Pontypool Male Voice Choir
In December I was asked to cover for regular accompanist Caroline for the SANDS((Still and Neo natal deaths) Lights of love concert at St Saviours Church Cardiff . It was a privilege for everyone to take part at this moving service. The song Tears in Heaven was my favourite song, being sung as the candles were lit for the angel babies.
Here is a photo taken at the concert.
